Program Resources
Please start with the Community Conversations with Veterans TOOLKIT (bit.ly/ConVetsToolkit) which includes programming and partnership ideas, and a booklist. We would love your input on this living document. Please email jrobbins@calbook.org with title or toolkit suggestions.
Community Conversations with Veterans programs might include: interpretive or interactive exhibits & other arts-related activities and discussions, readings/speaker discussions, panel discussions, film viewings and discussions, book discussions, workshops (writing, poetry, other), oral history projects, restorative/trauma informed yoga workshops or presentations, mental or physical health related classes or panel discussions, workshops or presentations, and civic engagement or volunteer projects that encourage conversation and discussion during or after the activity. California Center for the Book is working in collaboration with United States Veterans’ Artist Alliance and Humanist Films to build programming capacity at California libraries in the future.
Please be sure to also review the Programming Ideas and Resources information on the Veterans Connect @ the Library site. Speak with your community partner about programming options. Share your ideas with us and we’ll add them to the toolkit!
