California Center for the Book Initiative Updates: Response to COVID-19

Dear California Library Community,

We want to keep you updated.  Here are some of the most recent changes, updated as of March 20, 2020:

  • The Adult Services Symposium (originally scheduled for 3/26 in Sacramento then moved online)  is now moving to several hour-long free webinars over a few days in April. The first webinar is scheduled for April 1, 2020 at 10:00 AM.  See the Adult Services Symposium page for the latest!
  • All CCFB Initiatives (BOOK TO ACTION, COMMUNITY CONVERSATIONS WITH VETERANS, and RURAL LIBRARIES TOUR writing workshops) are experiencing significant changes. Program Coordinators, we will be consulting with California Library Association and our California State Library grant monitor and extending deadlines for programs, community surveys, reports, and speaker fees, most likely through end of Summer 2020.
  • If you want to be in touch, please reach out. Otherwise, we will worry about dates and specifics in the next few weeks. We understand some of you may be unable to access work email, experiencing childcare challenges due to school closures, and are focusing on on re-deployments and other rapid changes. Please know you can continue to contact me M – F 9am – 5pm if you have any questions.
  • Also, I wanted to share my personal go-to site for updated, well-researched, graphically engaging COVID 19 updates: https://ourworldindata.org/coronavirus
Warm regards,
Julianna
