This past week, the California Center for the Book Advisory Council met at San Diego County Library’s Descanso branch and heard from three librarians who participated in the 2018 Book to Action program through California Center for the Book. A huge thank you to Chelsie Harris, Laura Zuckerman, and Mellissa Solis (pictured below).
Check out Chelsie’s thoughtful one-page summary of the 2018 Book to Action project at Ramona Community Library. They selected John Green’s Turtles All the Way Down, focusing on mental health, and connected with multiple community partners. The succinct and useful summary includes project purpose, need, outputs, outcomes, and lessons learned. Book to Action Brief SDCL Ramona Library (PDF)
If you are thinking about applying for a 2019 Book to Action project, don’t hesitate to reach out to me. Early applications give us plenty of time to chat. There are so many past projects you can use as inspiration or design your own based on your community needs. More info at /programs/bta
Thank you for the support and inspiration from San Diego County Library. Chelsie, Laura, Melissa, we really appreciated your presentations. Big thanks to Bill Sannwald for bringing such enthusiasm to the CCFB Advisory Council!
