The Californians: Community Conversations About the Arts 2018 program from California Center for the Book will serve as a springboard for exploring and discussing how the Arts – visual arts, literary arts, performing arts – impact both individuals and the community. Participating libraries will receive a bookshelf aimed at sparking conversation and programming support.
We are pleased to announce that the Californians: Community Conversations about the Arts 2018 cohort will include 14 projects at 21 libraries across California. Libraries will also work with more than 20 community partners to create unique programming aimed at adult and multigenerational audiences.
Below you’ll find a list of participating libraries, program coordinators, and community partners. Programs and partners will continue to develop through January and programs will take place January – June 2018.
The 2018 Toolkit is also now available for anyone who is interested in bringing arts-related community conversations programs to their library. You’ll find conversation starters, background reading, partnership ideas, programming ideas, and the complete annotated booklist.
Thank you to our Toolkit contributors David Lopez and Erika Barbosa and our book provider, Ingram Library Services. Visit the Californians: Community Conversations About the Arts page to learn more. Again, welcome and congratulations to our 2018 Californians cohort!
