The Call for Presenters for the 2018 Adult Services Symposium is NOW OPEN! We encourage librarians and partners from across California to submit presentation ideas on the 2018 Symposium theme: the Power of Partnerships.
What is the Adult Services Symposium?
The Adult Services Symposium is a chance for librarians and library staff who serve adults to get together and learn from each other. In 2017, more than 80 librarians and presenters participated in an action-packed Symposium at Torrance Public Library in Southern California on the theme Free Programming Ideas for Adults. We had a great time, learned a lot, and heard that librarians wanted more!
On Thursday, May 17, 2018 we are bringing the Symposium to Sacramento Central Library. The Adult Services Symposium is hosted by California Center for the Book and the CLA Adult Services Interest Group as part of the CLA Spring Fling collection of programs. In 2018, the Symposium will continue to be FREE. An online sign-up will be available in early spring 2018.
Who Should Apply to Present at the 2018 Symposium
We are looking for librarians and partners from across California who are ready to share ideas, learn from each other, and network. We are seeking out fresh thoughts, diverse perspectives, and powerful presenters or those who want to become so. We hope you will apply, get involved, and help us shape the direction of this event.
Travel stipends are available for presenters on a case-by-case basis as funds last. Requests are not guaranteed until the final program is set. Please do not make travel arrangements until after notifications in February 2018.
