Please join us in welcoming several new CCFB Advisory Council members. The applicants were all top-notch and this decision was incredibly difficult. The work of all Council members past and present is much appreciated! Our three new Advisory Council Members for 2017 are:
Sally Thomas became an adult services librarian in 2007 after working for many years at UC Berkeley. She has worked at the Hayward Public Library for almost 10 years and was promoted to supervising librarian in 2014. Sally has organized a great line up of author visits and a variety of community-wide reading series, including Big Reads, California Reads, Book-to-Action, and monthly meetings of the Mostly Literary Fiction Book Group among other programs. She is especially proud of bringing Book-to-Action to California in 2011. Book-to-Action in Hayward continues to bring major new partners every year and has grown into a much anticipated annual program with broad public engagement. Sally brings much enthusiasm to her role as a CCB Advisory Board member.
Alicia M. Rodriguez
Alicia M. Rodriguez is a bilingual outreach librarian II for the Los Angeles Public Library. She is also a member of the Reforma Los Angeles Chapter and past treasurer of Reforma National. Alicia is very excited to begin a sewing class for her branch as a recipient of a Mini Ideas Grant from the LAPL Library Foundation. Alicia is excited and looking forward to serving on the advisory council for CCFB.
Bill Sannwald is proud to be one of San Diego County Library’s Principal Librarians. He supervises a diverse range of branches across San Diego County, from a big, bustling facility with an ocean view to a rural library nestled in the mountains. Previously, he worked for San Diego Public Library for 23 years, where he began his career as a Library Aide during his senior year of high school. He loves being a dad and husband, plays lots of video games, enjoys listening to a wide variety of music, and likes to draw cute doodles.
