Book to Action initiatives are launching soon in libraries across California. We are excited to announce the Book to Action 2021: SUSTAINABILITY projects. Book to Action 2021 initiatives tackle important issues in the community and encourage reading, community discussion, and action. Book to Action initiatives, aimed at adults and intergenerational groups, also focus on building sustainable community partnerships, encouraging civic engagement, and supporting collaborative efforts between library staff and communities across the state. We invite all Californians to learn more about the Book to Action 2021: Sustainability titles, community partnerships, and program plans.

A virtual conversation is scheduled for Thursday, April 22 (Earth Day) from 6:00pm – 7:00pm. Participating libraries and community members will be invited to join others across the state for this special event. More information and registration will be shared soon.

Library staff and community partners are invited to explore and contribute to the Book to Action 2021 toolkit. The toolkit contains examples of community partners and connections, links to documentaries with discussion and action guides, and more. The Book to Action 2021 webinars on topics such as community partnerships, planning for evaluation, and more are available on the main Book to Action page and on our YouTube channel.
